If a man and woman are locked alone in a room, you are free to do anything but told them that there’s a camera watching them, recording their every single movement and that the footage might be share with the public on every social media platform. A normal, honourable and sensible person will definitely act well-mannered and not dare to do any indecent act. They will behave with extreme caution.
Why?
Because we believe in that small camera. We trust the person who installed the camera because he has access to do anything with that recording.
And above all, we fear exposure and disgrace in front of people, the case will definitely be different if there is no such thing.
We restrain ourselves not because the camera is 100% reliable—it could malfunction, corrupted, disconnected, without power, or the footage might get deleted but because the fear of being caught by humans is very real to us.
Yet we often forget a far more important reality:
Allah ﷻ, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, has already informed us in the all the books, especially in the (Muslim book) Qur'an that every action—even our hidden and innermost thoughts are being recorded continuously.
“Not a word is uttered except that there is a vigilant watcher ready to record it.”
(Qur'an)
Two angels, one on the right and one on the left, are assigned to write down each and every deed with 100% flawless, whether in public or in private. This divine surveillance has no chance of error, no chance to miss something, and the recording will be played back on the Day of Judgment (Qiamat) in front of all creation.
So ask yourself:
Why do we fear a human, a camera or even a child but not the All-Seeing, All-Knowing Lord? Do we really a believer?
Why do we hide sins or not doing in front of people but openly disobey the One who never sleeps?, who know everything about you, more then you.
Do we truly believe in the Accountability of the Hereafter?
The question is why don’t we fear Allah the way we fear from a simple camera, is there anything we to change in ourselves?
This reminder is not to shame anyone, but to awaken our hearts and told to ourselves, that's it! no more sins, no more disobey, no more hurt other people, but respects and helps other. If we can feel so much fear for worldly exposure, shouldn’t our fear for Allah’s judgment be even greater?
Let us live with Taqwa (God-consciousness) and remember that no action goes unnoticed, but recording these all actions and we will face on the Day of Judgment.
May Allah protect us from disgrace on the Day of Judgment and grant us the strength to stay sincere in both private and public.
Ameen Ya Rabb al-‘Alameen.
